Our mission is to use sports to be a bridge to our community that will establish and develop strong spiritual and physical bodies in Christ.

Goals and Vision

At every athletic event we sponsor, the Gospel will be shared. We want to create a non-threatening environment where un-churched friends, neighbors, or co-workers can hear the gospel.

Initially, we will provide recreational volleyball and basketball for young adults. This summer we will provide several 3-on-3 basketball tournaments and a golf tournament. As an outreach we will enter a community basketball league and plan to add a church softball team this fall. A staff basketball game, as well as FAU outreaches and community events, will be held throughout the year. By summer 2006, we intend to have established adult basketball and softball leagues.

A team will be assembled to promote and organize each sport. The Sports Ministry Director will periodically meet with the commissioners of each sport to encourage and disciple them. The commissioners will then disciple their team and train other so that no sport is run by only one person.

The Sports Ministry will be self-funded: our budget will be what we can raise through registration fees and fundraiser's. Most of our funds will come from our annual winter golf tournament.
