Outreach: Boca Helping Hands Food Center
In the words of Jesus revealed in Matthew 25:35 & 40, "For I was hungry and you gave me food, I was thirsty and you gave me drink, I was a stranger and you welcomed me...Truly, I say to you, as you did it to one of the least of these my brothers, you did it to me." It is a joyous pleasure and a privilege to provide all three of these acts of compassion during our service at the Boca Helping Hands Food Center.
Our Outreach Group serves from 8:00 AM - 1:00 PM on the 4th Saturday of every month. We prepare and distribute between 200 and 250 nutritious meals to those in need and clean up afterwards.
Our goal is to be the light of Christ to all we meet. As with all our other groups, we are Christ-centered and value authentic community and whole-life generosity.
All volunteers are asked to park in the lot across the street from the center. For restaurant health reasons, everyone must wear a hat or cap (baseball type) or hairnet (provided by BHH). All long hair must be pulled back and tied. BHH will also provide gloves and aprons. For safety reasons everyone is required to wear closed toe shoes with rubber soles. Due to COVID-19 safety restrictions, masks are required.
